CRANIO / C0–C1

C0–C1: the upper cranio-cervical reference.

C0 refers to the occipital base of the skull. C1 refers to the atlas, the first cervical vertebra. Their relationship is an important reference within the CRANIO model.

Why CRANIO cares

The head is supported through a physical relationship that must remain useful while you sit, stand, read, work and move.

Primary reference

Within CRANIO, “primary” describes the reference from which downstream configuration is considered. It does not mean every experience has a single cause.

What we observe

Position, orientation, movement, asymmetry, changes in effort and differences between initial and subsequent states.

Epistemic discipline

Individual observations do not automatically establish universal causation. Deeper research separates observation, measurement, reported experience and interpretation.
